a shrine to the films of Talasfilm, the steppe, the horses, and to KARA-BEK
For: stealing horses (many), stealing the film (every film), the best smile in Soviet cinema.
Played by: Erkin Sultanbekov, "the Kara-Bek of the Steppe".
Last seen: riding away. He always rides away. He always comes back.
Salam, partner. In Irad they call them Easterns: the westerns made at Talasfilm from 1979, with our steppe, our horses, our mountains and a lot of borrowed spaghetti. It started with Desert Sun's Rebellion and ended, more or less, with the 80s. The same faces came back in film after film, and the face that came back most was the villain's: Kara-Bek.
This is his shrine and the shrine of those films. I watch them at night on my shift. I have seen 41 Easterns. Some are bad. All of them are ours.
