Ran Desert Sun's Rebellion in a Talas cinema in 1987 more times than I can count. The reel with the salt flat was always the most scratched. Everybody wanted to see it again.

We had Sadikov in the history of cinema course. The teacher said 'the Eastern is our only genre'. Then he showed Vengeance Rider and nobody talked for an hour.
