A concrete wave with a mosaic sun under it. No village for 6 km either way. Who waits here? Shepherds, a man told me. And me now. Nobody came for 40 minutes, I took one picture, then the bus came.

A bus stop in the shape of a yurt, with a concrete tündük on top and the sky in it. The paint is from 1982, the graffiti is from 2019 ("Aidana + ?").

Three concrete horse heads holding up a roof. One lost an ear. Children climb on them, so the necks are shiny.

Not a bus stop, but it counts: the epic rider in the foyer of the Philharmonic, 1974. I asked the babushka at the door for one picture. She said one. I took one.

Half a sphere on four legs. It looks like an upside-down kazan, so we call it the kazan. Very good in rain. Very bad in July, it's an oven.

The woman with the cotton and the sun, a mosaic of the 70s. The school children wait under her every morning. She has watched three generations go to school.

A rocket on the stop's side wall, for Gagarin. The star is missing two tiles. Someone painted them in with nail polish, red. I love that person.

Triangles, triangles: the stop IS the mountains behind it. The architect knew. Wind at 3 in the afternoon will take your hat.

This one had a mosaic of a falcon. In 2026 they glued an advert over it (a phone shop). You can see one wing at the edge. I come back every month to see if the advert is peeling.

The last stop of trolleybus 4 until 2004. The wires are gone, the hooks are still on the poles. Bus 4 still turns here. The stop still waits for the trolleybus.
