Iradi coat words (the ones grandmother uses)
- akyel
- the golden riding horse breed. Not a colour! People get this wrong.
- doran
- iridescent metallic gold coat. Only some akyels have it. It shines like a coin.
- kula
- pale dun. The colour of dry grass in August.
- kaşka
- a white blaze on the face. Kara-kaşka: black with a blaze.
- jorgo
- an ambler, a horse that paces. Not a colour either. Grandmother says a good jorgo is worth two cars.
- boz
- grey. Boz-Tay: grey foal.
Grandmother's site tukum.net has the real pedigrees of about 6,000 horses, five generations each. This page has nine horses and zero pedigrees. We are a good team.
