1. The loft must be dry and light. Damp is the death of pigeons.
2. Food: wheat, barley, a little millet. No bread! Bread makes them sick.
3. Water every day clean, in winter warm.
4. Young birds go up for the first time at 40 days, only on a calm day, only with an old bird.
5. Do not chase the birds with a pole all day. A tired pigeon is a hawk's lunch.
6. Ring the young birds at 6–7 days and write in a book.
